Welcome, Pathfinder
Aniimo combines real-time action, creature collecting, and open-world exploration. You play a Pathfinder in Idyll, capturing companions with Aniipods and using their abilities in battles and the environment. The base game is free to play.
This is a launch-preparation guide based on announced systems. It is not a tested speedrun route, and it does not promise a particular creature, reward, or level during your opening hour.
Before you start
- Check the release date for your platform. PC and console arrive before mobile.
- Use the official site or store to register. A paid pre-order pack is optional.
- If you participated in a beta or reward event, check the account and channel requirements in our registration guide.
- On PC, compare the requirements for the store you intend to use. Steam and Epic currently list different specifications.
Learn the core loop
Explore → encounter → catch → build your roster → Twine → explore further. This is a useful learning sequence, not a mandatory quest order. Begin with the game's guided introduction and read the abilities of each companion you obtain. An ability useful for traversal may matter as much as its damage.
Keep three questions in mind: What can this Aniimo do in combat? What does it let me reach in the world? What investment does its next progression step require? The creature index helps with names, elements, roles, and stages; the in-game screens remain the authority for your current costs and unlocks.
Catching and Aniipods
Aniipods are capture tools. The surrounding ecosystem, time, and weather can affect encounters, so revisit areas rather than assuming an empty location is permanently exhausted. We do not have verified launch capture percentages or a universal best trap placement.
The September developer update changes legendary capture and Prismana encounters. Treat beta advice about repeated legendary capture attempts or old nurturing costs as version-specific. Read catching and Aniipods before spending scarce resources.
Try Twine early
Twine lets you merge with a collected Aniimo and use its abilities. Learn movement, attack range, and the situations where switching abilities solves a problem. Follow the on-screen input prompts for your platform; this guide does not guess controller bindings.
A short practical exercise is to try the same obstacle or encounter with two different companions, observing what changes. This is editorial learning advice, not a claim about hidden rewards.
Build around a purpose
The official index has five combat-role categories. Avoid treating every companion as interchangeable damage output. Choose a purpose—comfortable exploration, a particular encounter, or multiplayer—and compare roles and abilities within that context.
Our tier-list page explains the evidence a ranking needs. We have not tested a launch-version S-tier team. Likewise, the starter comparison distinguishes beta observations from confirmed launch information.
Know what changed after beta
The September 3 letter announces training changes and removes the rune system. Old rune builds should not be copied into a launch plan. Evolution stages and alternate forms also need to be distinguished from temporary battle transformations; see evolution and forms.
Playing with friends
Steam confirms online co-op, online PvP, and cross-platform multiplayer. Egg Heist has its own team rules. Do not assume its team size is the limit for every activity, or that cross-play automatically includes cross-save. See the gameplay and multiplayer guide.
